Telford! Get ready to supercharge your Wednesday night because Albert's Songwriters Showcase is BACK at Albert's Shed on Wednesday, August 13th, and we've cooked up a line-up that's going to blow your socks off!
First up, from the heart of the Black Country, we've got Rob Simmons! Usually found smashing drums for bands like Shotgun Marmalade, Rob’s stepping out from behind the kit to share his uniquely crafted songs, packed with those wonderfully obscure words he loves. Get ready for some deeply original tunes from this open mic veteran!
Next, prepare to be enchanted by Walsall's very own Jessie Desai. This musically trained singer-songwriter delivers stunning pop-folk tunes inspired by the likes of Ed Sheeran and City and Colour. She's been gigging and making waves on radio all over the country, and we're absolutely stoked to have her brilliant voice grace our stage!
And for something completely out of this world, brace yourselves for Goat-Man X Duchess! Described as a "robotic riot jungle p*ssy punk band" (yes, you read that right!), this duo is all about blending chaos with meticulous precision, served up with a delightfully twisted sense of humour and an immense sense of justice. They're wack, fly, fresh, dope, and gnarly – and trust us, they will demand your attention!

JESSIE DESAI
Jessie Desai is a singer-songwriter hailing from Walsall and has been musically trained since the age of 8. Singing her own pop-folk driven songs, inspired by the likes of Ed Sheeran, City and Colour and Lewis Watson, she gigs all over the country whilst also making radio appearances.

ROB SIMMONS
Since I was 16, I have played drums in bands and still do. I currently play in Shotgun Marmalade (pop, ska, punk); Disciples of Tone (punk) & Spider's Web (60's covers). Due to playing in bands I started writing lyrics then songs using basic chords which is what I still do today but try and use more obscure words.
I'm based in the Black Country & have played many open mics in the area. I have released 2 cd's, "Deepfields" and "The Beginning Is Nigh", to mass indifference and hope to record some more songs soon.
